Job Title: Production Control Analyst
Department: Materials
Reports to: Materials Manager
Position Type: PT Non-Exempt


Job Purpose:
Works independently within the Production Control Department performing tasks that support the department and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases.  

Essential Functions:
  • Creates the weekly/daily production schedule by analyzing customer orders, machine capacity/availability and raw materials availability. Optimizes production efficiency by balancing resources and demand. Continuously improves the scheduling processes to enhance overall productivity.
  • Monitors production schedule attainments and identifies potential bottlenecks and coordinates with all departments to ensure smooth flow through the plant.  Modifies production schedules as necessary and communicates the changes to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Contributes to daily GEMBA walks and promptly addresses open issues.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure that raw material inventory is available for the organization to operate efficiently and to meet designated production schedules.
  • Supports the Sales and Operation Planning process by using data and analysis of orders, inventory levels, economic trends, and supplier sources to provide reports and information to help the decision-making process.
  • Tracks and report department milestones/goals including On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Schedule Attainment.
  • Maintain, and follow ISO 9001 policies and procedures in the areas of material management, purchasing and inventory control.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage the materials team and build collaborative relationships.     
  • Proficient in various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Excel expert is a must have).
  • Intermediate to advanced level of ERP /MRP usage and understanding.  Knowledge of M1 is a plus.
  • Product knowledge in the wire industry.
                  
Education and Experience:
Requires a high school diploma and 3 years’ experience in the production planning function in a manufacturing environment or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

Work Environment: 
Work is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled manufacturing/office building; noise level is moderate. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand walk, and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach for, handle and grasp objects.

Travel Required:
Occasional travel to visit with suppliers and customers and attend industry meetings and training programs as requested.
