Are you interested in growing your career with a local financial institution committed to the agriculture and agribusiness sector? State Bank Financial is seeking an Agricultural Banker who is serious about growing a portfolio of ag business as well as growing their career. Position Summary

Under limited supervision, grow, manage, and monitor an existing portfolio of dairy, crop, and agribusiness client relationships within our market. While agricultural clients are the primary focus, new agribusiness, commercial, and commercial real estate client relationships are also desirable.

Relationships include clients who are users of some, or all the following financial services provided by State Bank Financial: Credit, Treasury Management, Investments, insurance, Merchant Processing, Retail Banking, Concierge Banking and Card products.

The Ag Relationship Manager will be responsible for profiling and cross-selling financial services to existing customers as well as prospects.

Operates within credit authority limits. Must be familiar with all applicable legal and regulatory laws and compliance, and monitors loan portfolio to ensure accounts are compliant. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state compliance regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for loan growth through new client acquisition, customer portfolio, and other avenues of influence to grow the market share as well as retaining the existing portfolio.
  2. Ensures the portfolio administration and risk management for each customer relationship is in compliance with the bank’s credit policy, procedures and business strategy as well as regulatory guidelines.
  3. Screens/interviews client applications to determine credit needs, analyzes financial information for credit requests, and makes presentations/recommendations for the appropriate financial structure through the bank’s loan approval process.
  4. Maintains a working knowledge of FSA and USDA programs and services.
  5. Maintains a working relationship with local FSA offices.
  6. Utilizes government programs when deemed necessary to meet customer needs and Bank underwriting criteria.
  7. Actively participates in business development activities for the purpose of attracting additional profitable business for the Bank.
  8. Maintains professional community relations to increase the Bank's visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Serves on Bank committees as needed.
  2. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
  3. Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  2. Previous banking, agriculture, and/or sales highly desirable.
  3. Basic knowledge of agriculture and a general understanding of agricultural lending is valuable and desired.
  4. Basic computer/technical skills.
  5. Ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and Bank information.
  6. Ability to deal effectively with time pressures and stress that can change hourly depending on level of activity.

Working Conditions

The Agricultural Relationship Manager travels for farm visits as well as works in an office environment. Work may be during normal business hours, or outside of normal business hours to meet customer needs. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job. Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating complex and technical information is required. Position will alternate between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of supplies and/or documents throughout work shift. Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel in own car.

Equipment Used
