Product Stress Analyst
Position Summary:

The Product Stress Analyst will have a key role in product development of ball screw and electromechanical actuation products. They will have responsibility for delivering strategic design and development goals in the linear actuation market to grow current and capture future business opportunities. This position is in the Product Engineering department and reports to the Vice President of Engineering. The Product Stress Analyst will reside in the Aerospace & Defense facility located in Saginaw, Michigan. This is a full time, DIRECT hire opportunity!
Responsibilities:
  • Provide stress analysis as required to the design and development teams in support of new and modifications of existing products
  • Development of technical design proposals for new product bids
  • Work within a design team to understand the needs and development based on linear and rotary motion technology that differentiate the company from the competition
  • Interpret customer requirements and provide conceptual and detailed design of linear and sub-components.
  • Provide guidance to team members as well as customers in support of product development.
  • Advance their use of analytical tools and testing methods
  • Design, conduct, and analyze laboratory testing of new products
  • Travel as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person
  • 5 years minimum relevant experience in stress analysis including FEA in the design of mechanical devices or related products.
  • ANSYS experience is a MUST.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering,
  • Proficient in solid modeling (CAD exp required – NX preferred but not necessary)
  • Experience in design and development of electro-mechanical devices a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Hands on approach, willing to “Roll up the sleeves.”
  • Must be able to use the computer and computer software as required by job.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, set-up sheets, travelers, procedure manuals and government regulations.
