We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Hotel Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within our hotel. This includes the production of financial reports, the maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, improving operational efficiency, and driving profitability.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
2. Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
3. Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms' performance.
5. Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations and other corporate policies.
6. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
7. Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities. This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
8. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
9. Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
10. Report financial results to the board of directors.
11. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA, CMA or other financial certifications are a plus.
2. Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a senior finance role in the hotel, resort, or hospitality industry.
3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
5. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
8. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
10. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
11. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
