Job Purpose:
The Department of Energy General Clerk III position involves utilizing subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of multiple steps with varying nature and sequence. The General Clerk III selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include assisting in various administrative matters, maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (both manually and electronically), verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness, compiling information, handling, and resolving complaints, and potentially directing lower-level clerks.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive phone calls and take notes to pass on to Moving Services personnel.
  • Transfer calls when appropriate.
  • Sign out power tools to Movers as needed and ensure all equipment issued is returned by Close-Of-Business (COB) of each day.
  • Perform light filing as required.
  • Distribute and collect Truck Driver paperwork as needed.
  • Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction, meet company expectations, and call metric goals.
  • Go the extra mile to engage customers and always provide high-quality customer service.
  • Support work procedures and processes of the company and departmental standards and strategic directives. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding customer concerns.
Education and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED diploma or Associate's Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and people skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Entry-level technical skills
  • High School Diploma or 1 year of solid Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to speak English; Spanish proficiency preferred
