Job Description
When hired on FULL-TIME: 2nd Shift Welders and Weld Inspectors will receive $4 night incentive
All welder candidates must have:
- at least 6 months of current welding experience.
- flux-core welding experience
- we USE old 0.52 + old 1/16th wire sizes
- We do Duel Sheild Fluxcore
- The candidate must know how to multitask.
- The employee requires to be comfortable with a moving machine at the same time able to weld.
- Do they know how to gouge? - Important process
- removal of a part or material for 100% purpose.
- No pipe or small part welders.
PREFERENCES
- welding experience while using a rotator is preferred not required but would give candidate a better opportunity of success
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- They do not need to have experience in our industry.
- No pipe or small part welders.
- we DON'T do old 0.35, old 0.45
- No Intersheild or hard wire
- Do they know how to gouge? -Important process
- ***removal of a part or material for 100% purpose.
- **we do not use MIG(GMAW), STICK(SMAW), nor TIG(GTAW) welding processes
- We have no downhill welding
***most common welding is flat with a 1F (Fillet weld) and 1G (Groove weld)
Below is a list of PPE and Clothing that applicants for welding positions need to have in order to take a weld test:
- Welding helmet with lenses (shade 10 or darker)
- Welding gloves
- Welding jacket
- Heavy cotton long sleeve shirt is acceptable
- Pants (full-length, heavy cotton, no cuffs)
- Steel Toed shoes (leather high-top work boots in good condition)
Structural and Steel Products can supply the following if the applicant does not have with them at the time of testing:
6. Hearing protection (ear plugs)
7. Safety glasses ANSI Z87. 1 (with side shields)
8. Grinding shield
9. Chipping Hammer
10.Wire brush
Weld Test Expectations:
- 1G Flat
- Double Bevel
- 1inch Plate with Backing Bar
- + Bend Test
- The candidate must know how to multitask.
- The employee requires to be comfortable with a moving machine at the same time able to weld.
Notes for setting up machine:
Wire Diameter: .052" & 1/16"
Process: Fluxcore

Welding Supervisor review checklist:
1. Fluxcore expierience (6mths) to be considered
2. Tenure (not jumping)
3. Type of product they are welding
If hired on welder must bring metatarsal boots.

- STRIKER (TORCH)
- CRESENT WRENCH
- 2LB SHOP HAMMER
EMPLOYEES WILL BE ASKED TO RETURN HOME IF YOU
DO NOT HAVE ALL THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE AFTER THE TIME
FRAME GIVEN. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROMBLEMS COMPLETING
THE LIST ABOVE PLEASE SEE YOUR SUPERVISOR.
