Medical Technologist – Core Lab (Nights - 12 hour shifts))

The work schedule for this position will be:

Week 1: Mon/Tues & Fri/Sat/Sun (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)

Week 2: Wed/Thurs (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science or all required city/state licenses or permits to qualify as a Technologist

• Must hold one of the following: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification OR current Tennessee state licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of previous clinical lab experience is required

• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

This position provides Labcorp services within a client hospital campus location.  The client requires COVID-19 vaccination, with the following options:

1. Team member is fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Note: If a candidate who has been offered a position is in the process of completing this, that candidate is still eligible to be hired and start work on campus.  New hires who are not fully vaccinated at the time of hire must wear a mask until their vaccination series is complete.
