Position Summary Responsibilities include providing leadership to the specialized service team, creating, implementing, and monitoring all processes that result in improved business performance as well as staff performance tracking and monitoring, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, and upholding federal and state regulations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the several departments to automate company processes.
  • Work closely with and respond to the Compliance Department on CFPB, state, and local audit requests.
  • Leads, guides, and supports the development of strategies, workflow processes, and process management for relevant areas including monitoring, tracking, and reporting.
  • Conduct meetings with team members to develop long-term and short-term departmental objectives and goals.
  • Assist administrators/representatives with escalated issues and the daily distribution of work.
  • Provide one-on-one training to new hires in the department.
  • Interacts daily with all Specialized Service, Repossession representatives, other departments, and customers to resolve escalated issues.
  • Assist Management in developing and implementing reporting mechanisms to keep senior management apprised of performance levels, developing trends, and workloads.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team performance objectives are met, complying with corporate policy, and upholding federal and state regulations.
  • Manages any qualifying and assigning of accounts for Reinstatement, Voluntary Surrender, Invoicing, and other specialized service process functions.
  • Oversees reviews, updates, and conducts follow-ups with other Default service functions, Compliant/Compliance department if necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state laws; the right to cure (RTC), Strict Compliance Letter (SCL), Soldiers and Sailors Credit Protection (SSCRA), and any Bankruptcy protection requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of Auto Repossession, Collection, or Remarketing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of team Lead/Supervisor experience.

Education

  • High School diploma and/or GED.

Skills Required

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • perform this job successfully, an individual should know MS Excel software and MS Word software.
  • Knowledge of and compliant with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and local, state, and federal collection laws.

Leadership or supervisory skills required:

  • Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning and assigning, directing work, appraising the performance of employees, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Although this position shall provide authority to lead and oversee day-to-day operations, it shall not provide the authority to take the following actions without consulting with the Human Resources department: hire, fire, promote/transfer/demote, or discipline an employee in a formal manner.
