Job Description
Schedule: Tuesday- Thursday 7am -11am/12pm
Hansie Flip Burgers is looking to hire a part time prep cook who is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients. Organizing and labeling food items in storage closets.
To be successful in this job, you will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred, and prior experience in a related position is an advantage.
Prep-Cook Responsibilities:
· Organizing and labeling food items in storage closets
· Chopping, weighing, and peeling vegetables, cutting meat and/or ingredients according to recipes
· Follow prep list to ensure all shifts are set up for success.
· Ensure all food and other items are stored properly, preserving freshness and inspect products and supplies as needed.
· Knowledgeable and/or willing to learn ServSafe practices and information.
· Work well under pressure and as a team.
· Ensure an orderly kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized.
· Follow all checklists and guidelines issues by on-shift management.
· Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment and comply with safety regulations and procedures.
· Control and minimize waste.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Prep-Cook Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
· Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
· Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
· Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work in a team.
· Very good communication skills.
· Physical ability to meet the demands of the job including, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, frequent standing, stooping, squatting, twisting, and moving, ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
· Ability to pass a food service sanitation course.
· Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes.
