Job Summary/Objective:
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Director to join our leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for the oversight of financial operations, including financial reporting, grant management, accounting, and bookkeeping. The Finance Director plays a crucial role in ensuring our organization's financial health and compliance, contributing significantly to our mission and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial and grant reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational standards.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Audit Coordination: Act as a liaison with auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Grants Management: Oversee the financial aspects of grant proposals and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Accounting and Bookkeeping: Manage all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee organizational cash flow forecasting and manage monthly financial activities.
- Payroll and Benefits: Serve as backup for payroll processing and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience (4 years).
- 4-7 years of accounting and financial management experience, with a preference for experience in a nonprofit, grant-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability in financial reporting, audit coordination, and grants management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial colleagues.
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks Online, and other accounting software.
