Warehouse Clerk/Driver

Job Summary/Scope Statement

As a Warehouse clerk/Driver, the employee’s time will be divided between the two roles as needed. The employee receives stores and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy of timeliness of all job functions. Driver duties include but not limited to; pick up and deliver supplies and materials from point A to point B.

Job Responsibilities

• Verify inventory through cycle counts.
• Receive and ship products in computer system.
• Assist shipping and receiving with unloading and loading of trucks, checking merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates as needed.
• Responsible for storage, packing, and preservation of goods.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assist in the maintenance and availability of shop consumables.
• Assist with Bills of Ladings, Commercial Invoices and Packing Slips.
• Load and unload trucks utilizing forklift, crane, and by hand.
• Pick up and drop off parts and components as required by purchasing demands and sales, while operating company vehicle.
• Assist in the shop/warehouse when required.
• Maintain housekeeping.
• Participate in Premium Safety and Quality programs.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Experience / Education Requirements

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to obtain CDL if required.
• A minimum of 1-year prior warehouse experience.
• A minimum of 2 years driving experience with flatbed trucks, gooseneck, and other hitch trailers.
• Knowledge of deck arrangement and safe strapping, banding, and securing practices.
• Knowledge of Houston and surrounding areas including major roadways.
• Communication skills and basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to properly operate forklift.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle/feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may also have to do some lifting up to 45 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be inclined to inclement weather including, but not limited to, extreme heat and/or cool temperatures.
