Accounting Clerk

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our team at Galloway Boys Trucking. The Accounting Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department by performing various accounting tasks and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the process of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

• Prepare and verify invoices, bills, and payments.

• Monitor and track expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.

• Assist with payroll processing as needed.

• Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and other clerical tasks.

• Review carrier payments.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in accounting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience in the field preferred not mandatory.
