Location - Atlanta, GA 30339 (ONSITE)
Duration - Long Term Contract
Shift Hours - 5 days a week, Monday - Friday (8AM - 5PM)
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide paralegal duties as necessary to protect company's interest regarding customer’s contractual obligations regarding legal placement portfolio, with particular emphasis on supporting the branches, monitoring, and coordinating the flow of legal information and workload, conducting basic research including thorough use of legal databases, and responding to the needs and liaising with branch/region personnel and external legal counsel.
Job Duties:
Performs research including the use of legal databases, collects and reviews information, and makes recommendations.
Develops procedures for administering and tracking legal undertakings, coordinates and consolidates the legal information to meet deadlines and convey status updates, including legal fees and incoming proceeds.
Acts as a contact point for all branch and region inquiries on legal issues and directs to appropriate legal counsel for action.
Collaborates with field and SSC management regarding legal issues above, including history of company's claims, potential counter-claim possibilities, and cost analysis and makes recommendations
Monitors the legal file status to ensure appropriate follow up actions are complete and timely.
Collaborates with Risk Management Manager and General Counsel to ensure all legal issues are handled efficiently and appropriately, while respecting the highly confidential nature of many issues, including general default of contracts for all lines of business, untimely cancellations, non-performance claims, loss damages, etc.
Prepares settlement agreements, Proof of Claims and various legal forms required for signature including drafting correspondence and submission to external legal counsel or vendor.
Maintains all legal files (electronic and paper copy).
Coordinates and ensures the proper approvals of the legal status:
a. Prepares and performs initial review of documentation provided for legal consideration including but not limited to full account reconciliation, contract terms, invoices, performance history, etc. for necessary and appropriate support for the final submission to client’s attorney or outside agency.
b. Research various laws in corresponding states
c. Recommends approval.
Review and address incoming correspondence which pertains to service or billing issues and determine appropriate action required.
