Southeastern Equipment is looking for a PAYROLL and ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST who is dedicated to a seamless and accurate payroll experience. This position is fulltime, full benefits and offers tremendous opportunity for growth. Dealership payroll and accounting experience is a plus! This position will be hybrid 2-3 days in office AFTER onboarding and training. Payroll experience is a MUST!

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our team. Payroll supports 272 employees across 5 states so multi state experience would be beneficial.

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounting Specialist to input payroll, manage Paycor processes and work with our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of payroll procedures, accounting principles, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and timely for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salary adjustments, tax withholdings, and deductions.
Calculate commissions, performance/bonus and incentive payments.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, HR, and other relevant stakeholders.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
Work with the accounting team on other duties as needed.
Assist in preparing financial reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Provide administrative backup during internal and external audits.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a 2 Year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. (4 year preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting functions.
Proficiency in payroll software (ADP and Paycor a plus).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Working knowledge of accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics a plus).
Experience managing payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and relational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle corporate information with integrity.
