RAFT is seeking a Summer Program Associate who who views challenges as opportunities to solve problems and enjoys working with K-12 students. Under the direction of the RAFT Summer Program Leadership team, the Summer Program Associate is responsible for supporting day-to-day camp operations (including camp activity facilitation, survey collection, and data entries, materials restocking).  They will ensure all team members provide a safe and engaging environment for the children and support the camp’s established guidelines and standards. 


You will leverage your experience working with young children to further RAFT’s mission to bring the joy of learning to students through hands-on STEAM project kits. By joining this summer program, you will be eligible to join our professional development training that inspires educators with a plethora of instructional ideas and hands-on learning materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage camper check-in/out process, welcoming both campers and parents 
  • Assist in implementing the weekly curriculum by managing the hands-on materials and supplies inventory.
  • Provide support for daily operations, including survey collection, data entry, and camp activity facilitation.
  • Coordinate camp-wide outdoor activities and ensure the safety of students. 
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among campers.
  • Understand and support the implementation of camp guidelines and standards 
  • Participate in at least 9 hours of onboarding training, professional development, and staff meetings  before camp starts
  • Participate in after-camp debrief
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned by Site Director or RAFT staff

 

Qualifications & Skills: 


  • Genuine interest and experience in working with young children in a childcare/education environment
  • Can commit to one- four weeks, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs in the learning environment 
  • Proactive in solving problems  
  • Enthusiastic and reliable team player 
  • Strong professional skills to fulfill required training and assigned tasks with excellence 
  • Obtain a TB Risk Assessment & Fingerprint Clearance (RAFT will cover the cost) 

 

Education and/or Experience:       


  • Currently enrolled in a credential program or two years of experience in event coordination 
  • One or more years of teaching or managing student program experience
  • Summer camp experience preferred
