Job Title: Cook II

Hiring for: Full Time and Part Time hours varying between 10am - 6:30pm

Salary: Starting at $18/hr PLUS $1 shift differential when working after 3pm and $1 shift differential on weekends!

What do I need as a Cook II with Messiah Lifeways?

• Graduate of culinary school or have 1 to 2 years cooking experience in a health care setting, restaurant or dining facility.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Basic knowledge of production and operations in all relevant kitchen areas.
• Ability to effectively communicate and multi-task.
• Proficient in handling knives and culinary tools.

What will I do as a Cook II with Messiah Lifeways?

• Prepares high quality food items according to recipes and standards to meet timelines for service for residents and guests to include: saut?, braising, grill, batch cooking, fry and preparation.
• Maintains clean and sanitary work area.
• Responsible for set-up of assigned workstation.
• Set up workstation ensuring all requirements are organized prior to start of food service.
• Plan and prep accordingly for the following day.
• Daily inspection of assigned workstation to ensure proper rotation of product and that all products are labeled and dated and complies with all regulations.
• Must be familiar with all kitchen equipment and machinery including safe operation and maintenance.
• Inform Chef on duty of any problems, concerns, inconsistencies, or product shortages.
• Responsible for proper closing procedures of assigned station.
• Comply with all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
