Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for developing and performing all aspects of fleet maintenance program.
Responsibilities include:
· Development and execution of overall fleet management program.
· Supervision of shop employees, safety and 3rd party service providers.
· Conducts inspections and diagnostic tests to determine equipment or vehicle conditions and identify worn
or damaged parts.
· Evaluate Performance of all drive train component work on trucks, steering systems.
· Ability to install, adjust or align brakes, and wheels and wheel components such as bearings and air brake
and valve systems to diagnose and repair braking and valve systems.
· Perform preventive maintenance on all units as scheduled.
· Contain costs by utilizing applicable warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
· Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
· Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
· Other tasks, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
· 5+ years of experience working with diesel engines and/or truck fleets.
· 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
· Experience as a truck maintenance mechanic or inspector at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or
similar facility.
· Experience with brake maintenance and inspection at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or
similar facility.
· Fluent in English required, Spanish preferred.
WORK/ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (WITH OR WITHOUT AN ACCOMMODATION)
· Field environment using equipment as needed to perform duties, frequent interruptions throughout day
likely.
· Essential: continuous standing, bending, sitting, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, and finger manipulation,
frequent turning, and twisting, and reaching.
· Weather elements can be extreme cold, heat and wind.
· Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 50 - 75 lbs. push/pull occasionally required for up to 50 - 75 lbs.
· Hearing and vision (both correctable) are essential.
