Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Highmark Credit Union in living out our Mission, “To educate and inspire our Highmark family so that all can achieve success.”  This is done by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members.  A key component of this service is to identify the needs of each member you assist and suggest the credit union products and services that will improve their financial life. 

In addition, assists members and potential members with their financial needs, opens and closes membership accounts, savings and checking accounts, processes account transactions, resolves problems, and provides assistance and information regarding products and services in-person or by telephone, mail, email, or other electronic means.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assists members and potential members with their financial needs, opens and closes membership accounts, savings and checking accounts, processes account transactions, resolves problems, and provides assistance and information regarding products and services in-person or by telephone, mail, email or other electronic means.
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services by presenting and explaining Credit Union products and services.
  • Serves as a liaison between the member and the credit union in providing account information and a variety of transaction services to members.
  • Opens and closes membership accounts, savings and checking accounts, processes certificate of deposit transactions including renewals, and provides other assistance to members as needed.
  • Opens business accounts.
  • Processes requests for share transfers, loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, line of credit advances, loan applications and other documentation necessary for completing loan files, funding approved loans, typing adverse action letters, maintaining lending department files.
  • Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
  • Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria by computing various criteria; verifies employment and income.
  • Approves loans up to $100,000 (Tier 3) and notifies applicant of loan decisions.
  • Performs collection actions on delinquent loans.
  • Coordinates and processes closings.
  • Ensures loan is properly and promptly processed, documented, approved/disapproved and disbursed.
  • Processes home equity lines of credit.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in business or finance (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of experience performing essential functions as they relate to the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of standard business practices
  • Knowledge of Credit Union services and products including the legal and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must pass required background check
