Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer on the Engineering team will implement and maintain tooling and automation that is robust, scalable and efficient to enable high-quality continuous delivery and ongoing operation of our Platform. The position will focus on continuously improving the efficiency of the Engineering team and the quality and security of our software stack, identify the root cause of problems in our builds, CI pipeline and deployments, and implement robust solutions using industry best practices to achieve highly secure and reliable services.

With offices in Santa Monica, CA, Columbus, OH and Munich, Germany, we aim to bring structure to unstructured data at scale.

​​Role and Responsibilities​

• Implement and maintain tools & pipelines to automatically perform CI/CD up to Production
• Proactively and reactively monitor and respond to events, error conditions and threshold events in internal networks and systems
• Maintain the IaaC approach (Ansible, Terraform, GitHub) to implement and fix issues caused by software updates/bugs/security flaws
• Regular patch management of internal tools and services
• Provide technical documentation on processes and document all work done in ticketing tools
• Perform triage, diagnosis and troubleshooting, and resolve technical issues
• Respond to Engineering requests to meet our DevOps SLA, and participate in on-call rotation
• Consistently seek out best practices and help to implement them on the team

Qualifications & Education/certification requirements

• 5+ years' experience as DevOps
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Proficiency in Python – coding, testing, debugging, maintaining
• Hands-on experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
• Practical experience and knowledge of Linux and networking protocols (http/s, TCP)
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps, SRE and Agile principles

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure and automation of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Git and scripting
• Developer-level understanding of relational databases
• Solid technical design and documentation skills
• Writing clean code, knowledge of best practices and common design patterns
• Self-motivated to learn the Aparavi stack and gain certifications through industry training
