FEMA Public Assistance Document Validation Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a FEMA Public Assistance Document Validation Specialist. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of documentation submitted for FEMA Public Assistance programs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of FEMA PA regulations, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Document Review - Thoroughly examine documentation submitted by applicants for FEMA Public Assistance programs to ensure compliance with FEMA guidelines and regulations. Verify the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of all required documents.
  • Identify any discrepancies or missing information and collaborate with applicants to resolve issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Stay up-to-date on FEMA policies, guidelines, and regulations relevant to Public Assistance programs. Interpret and apply FEMA regulations to assess the eligibility of submitted documentation.
  • Communication - Work closely with applicants, FEMA representatives, and other stakeholders to clarify information, address discrepancies, and provide guidance on documentation requirements. Maintain clear and concise communication to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Data Management - Utilize Grants Manager (a FEMA provided software) and tools to manage and track documentation throughout the validation process.
  • Maintain accurate records of validated documents, communications, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Quality Assurance - Implement quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the validation process. Provide feedback to improve the overall documentation submission process and enhance the efficiency of the validation workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (public administration, emergency management, or a similar discipline).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in FEMA Public Assistance programs or a related field.
  • Familiarity with FEMA PA regulations and documentation requirements.

SKILLS:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Adobe Pro, and general skill using technology such as smartphones and the internet
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for document management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including applicants, FEMA representatives, and other team members.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing guidelines and regulations, as well as evolving disaster response scenarios.

BENEFITS/COMPENSATION:

Compensation for these positions is hourly ($29-32/hr), based on experience, background, and skills.
