Summary

Maintenance Manager: Manages operations including scheduling, planning, P&L, hourly and salary personnel and customer interface.

What you'll do

  • Maintain compliance with all company and customer safety and environmental programs including all training, reporting and system documentation.
  • Responsible for quality compliance, awareness, training and reporting including all daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.
  • Responsible for managing productivity, efficiency, housekeeping, 5S, equipment maintenance programs and shop consumables.
  • Assist with customer relations, communications, and requests. Attend customer meetings. Drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for parts, maintenance, service, and supplies of equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Manage all aspects of roll shop operation.

Manager Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise salary and hourly employees in the Roll Shop Department. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintain productive/positive customer relations, drive quality and associated systems, efficient scheduling of grinders, effective communications both written and verbal, timely submittal of required reporting, participate with customer on quality related initiatives and manage all facility functions and documents. Support 100% utilization of Rolling Mill.
  • Recommend annual roll buys to customer. Track all roll related performance metrics.

What you'll need

  • Technical BS degree and 10 years applicable experience or 15 years of roll grinding shop management.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and mechanical skills.
  • Proven management attributes
  • P&L management
  • Extensive problem solving experience with proven methodology.
  • Good relationship building skills focusing on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of RMS programs.
  • Familiarity with UT, Ra, Hardness and EC instruments and principals
