As the Deputy Executive Director for MY Project USA, you will assist the Executive Director in the operations and leadership of the entire organization. You will assist with providing financial oversight and impactful decision-making to amplify the organization's reach and effectiveness. You will be vital to energizing and guiding our staff, youth leaders, and volunteers and you will work collaboratively with the Board to execute the wellbeing of the mission.

Importantly, upon demonstrating exceptional performance and achieving key organizational goals, as the Deputy Executive Director you will be considered for promotion to the role of Executive Director. As the Deputy Executive Director, you will:

  • Oversee the organization's budget and marketing strategies, fostering a positive cultural ethos – all while collaborating closely with the Board of Directors for effective policy oversight.
  • Represent MY Project USA at various social and corporate events, enhancing the brand and conveying our message as a representative of the organization.
  • Spearhead fundraising initiatives and manage financial resources to expand the organization by identify diverse and novel funding sources.
  • Cultivate and maintain corporate and nonprofit partnerships, engage with various governmental bodies, as well as with stakeholders, shareholders, industry regulators, and other relevant entities.
  • Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, from application to reporting, ensuring compliance and effective utilization of funds.
  • Provide direct supervision of all Program Directors for various initiatives ranging from youth programs (Recreation, Academic, Leadership, Vocational Programming), Environmental Justice, Food Pantry/Market, Community Development, ESL & Immigrant Support, Community Power Hours (Hispanic, Wedgewood, and Afghan Community), and more.
  • Oversee all aspects of communication including social media, press coverage, annual reports, graphic design, campaign materials, video announcements, website development and maintenance, and serving as the primary media spokesperson for the organization.
  • Recruit, train, and nurture employees to lead key departments and manage strategic business operations.
  • Foster an organizational culture of transparency and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards across the organization.
  • Assess risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to safeguard business interests.

To be successful in this role, you will need to support the mission, vision and values of MY Project USA and have:

  • A minimum of three years in a leadership or management role in a nonprofit, particularly as an Executive Director, including fundraising, grants management, and direct supervisory experience of high performing teams.
  • Prior experience with refugee, immigrant and underserved communities preferred. Prior experience with at-risk youth is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience developing both short- and long-range strategic plans, project management, startup programs, organizing, and change management skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
