Job Description
Salary: $10 - $11 Hourly DOE

GENERAL SUMMARY: Deli Managers responsibilities include, but not limited to, overseeing operations, inspecting food quality and display case presentation, and managing food safety practices and cleaning. Perform on-the-job training and ensure quality customer service. Assist in identifying and ordering inventory and maintaining food costs, food preparation, engage with customers during ordering, or aid the cashier during peak hours.

Deli Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities of deli to improve sales performance.
  • Perform various duties such as cooking, serving, packaging, and operating counters.
  • Manage product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages.
  • Assist in preparation of inventory and sales budgets.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements and implement improvements to meet company goals.
  • Provide training to staff on company policies and all health and safety guidelines.
  • Respond to queries and complaints from customers, team members and vendors.
  • Coordinate with employees to operate the Deli to achieve sales goals.
  • Develop sales promotion programs to attract more customers.
  • Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices, descriptions, and dates.
  • Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock problems.
  • Interact politely with clients while solving problems related to sales, dissatisfied service, and issues regarding store operation.
  • Operate and train all employees on all food preparation machines and equipment.
  • Receive, unload and stock the food items.
  • Ensure that facility is maintained constantly and remains neat, clean, and safe in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to work all store operating hours.
  • Must be able to function independently in a work setting.
  • Must be ServSafe Certified. (Must complete within 90 days of employment)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, team members, management staff and vendors.
