Landscape Construction Foreman

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Elite Private Landscape is a commercial landscape construction company that works with General Contractors and Owners to install all aspects of commercial landscaping with over 30 years of business since the establishment of what began as a small home-based landscape maintenance company in 1987.  We are looking for an Elite Landscape Construction Foreman to join our team in Clovis, Ca.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

The Foreman is responsible for implementing projects from the beginning toward the end.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Maintain general knowledge of landscape construction operations
2. Able to deliver professionally written and verbal correspondences with customers, vendors and employees.
3. Effective listening skills to understand what our customers are looking for as a contractor and/or a subcontractor.
4. Maintain a positive attitude when faced with challenges
5. Work in an organized and proactive manner
6. The ability to communicate the needs of our customers to our employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Foreman and/or related industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. Frequently required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to the 50lbs.
2. Constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
3. Frequently operate machinery; only when/if trained and certified according to OSHA and safety standards
4. Use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials
5. Specific vision abilities required; including close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
6. Outdoor work in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements; including heavy to moderate noise and extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, electrical energy, and tools and machines regularly used in construction

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1.  Quality and Profitability

• • Work with Superintendents to ensure the quality and profitability of all assigned jobs.
  • Understand the scope of work detailed in each signed contract.
  • Maintain project completion within the budget that meets our minimum Gross Profit goals.
  • Maintain project completion within a schedule that meets the needs of our customers if one is not provided.
  • Help Superintendents to prepare the scope of work detailed in all assigned jobs within our budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by all staff on assigned jobs.
  • Communicate with the Superintendent any hiring needs and jobsite tools and equipment needs.

2.  Coordination of Jobsite Projects

• • After a job is awarded, the Foreman is responsible for our staff’s performance in the field.
  • Attend pre-construction meeting.
  • Attend weekly or bi-weekly progress meetings.
  • All other meetings needed or requested by our customers.
