Job Description

Timpte is looking for a Maintenance Area Leader at our David City Manufacturing Facility. We’re looking for someone to direct supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, employee communications and employee morale and productivity for the Maintenance team.


Job Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities include:

o Direct work of Maintenance team and assign work based on skills and experience.

o Manage and perform tests of moderately complex electronic/electrical systems, electro-mechanical systems, electro-mechanical devices, mechanical devices and hydraulic systems.

o Perform and install preventative maintenance programs to keep equipment and tools in good running order.

o Manage and follow all lockout/tag-out, electrical codes, and effectively participate in emergency action duties.

• Installs power, lighting and control circuits.

• Prepare repair plan with production supervisors to minimize downtime of equipment.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other defects on production equipment.

• Utilize CMMS software to track inventory, PMs and previous equipment issues.

• Make recommendations to correct problems with equipment and processes.

• Focus on building strong customer relationships.

• Provides positive leadership example to the team; coaching, mentoring, and development of members of the maintenance team.

• Provides input and participates in performance feedback to team members including participation in performance review processes.

• Ensures team participation and compliance with safety (safety rules, training, behavioral based safety observations) and environmental requirements.

• Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.


Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• Must possess an Associates degree and/or 2-5 years of experience to perform electrical, electronic, and hydraulic repairs.

• Must have knowledge of production equipment, operate forklifts, weld, use hand tools, and operate. general repair testing equipment.

• Must be able to work under general supervision and make quality decisions independently when situation demands it. This includes working with new processes and projects.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and repair manuals and keep them orderly.
