Social Worker 1

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The position “Social Worker 1” is essential in providing quality mental health services to residents who are at the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility. Social Worker 1 maintains a mental health caseload of residents, conducts one-on-one office visits with caseload clients, and serves as the primary point of contact for residents. Social Worker 1 directly coordinates with the Clinical Services Administrator regarding mental health assessments, creates mental health treatment plans / program case plans, and provides individual counseling services to caseload clients. This position observes, monitors, and interacts with residents on the mental health caseload; supervises residents in accordance with established laws, policies, procedures, and standards; and addresses resident needs appropriately. Social Worker 1 practices in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and works within their respective scope of practice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to fifty (50) pounds. Visual ability must be sufficient to operate equipment, if necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (REQUIRED) or higher in social work. Must hold LSW Licensure or be exam eligible at time of application submission. Two to three years’ experience in corrections, psychology, criminal justice, social work, substance abuse treatment, mental health, or a related field with human services delivery in a residential setting preferred. Must have proficient computer skills. Must have good interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. A valid Ohio Driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
