As the Operations Manager, you will assume a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our aerospace and automotive parts manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading a high-performing team to meet production targets and maintain the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the manufacturing department, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce production costs, and minimize waste.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee stringent quality control measures, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and develop a skilled team of machinists, technicians, and production staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability.
- Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets and project deadlines.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the department's budget, monitor expenses, and work to optimize spending while ensuring the department's operational needs are met.
- Health and Safety: Enforce and uphold safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment for all employees. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Customer Relations: Collaborate closely with customers to understand their unique requirements, address concerns, and maintain strong relationships.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components required for production.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation, cost-saving initiatives, and the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, ideally in aerospace and automotive parts manufacturing or similar.
- Proficiency knowledge in precision machining processes and equipment.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
- Deep knowledge of quality control standards and manufacturing best practices specific to the aerospace and automotive sectors.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and industry compliance.
- Experience in budget management and cost control.
- Continuous improvement mindset and expertise in lean manufacturing principles is a significant advantage.
