Job Description
  • Repair, maintain, and rebuild the production, shipping, and facility equipment, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging is least affected
  • Respond to calls from production, shipping employees, and management to make repairs
  • Perform established preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
  • Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints / schematics
  • Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Work with contractors as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support ongoing business needs

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OSHA requirements
  • “Advanced” skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Must have own maintenance tools, including 480 volt and 3 phase electric voltmeter, and able to use
  • Able to use various maintenance tools and equipment effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work with electrical circuits including 24 volt controls, 120-240 volt, single and three phase service
  • Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure and ability to synthesize complex or diverse information
  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English
  • Basic ability to use Windows based computer systems

Experience: 10+ years of experience in:

  • Industrial maintenance
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches and electric motors
  • PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens and Direct Logic
  • Industrial welding: repair as well as fabrication, MIG, TIG

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are a plus, preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, holding, grasping, visual hearing, depth perception, color vision.
