Job Summary

The Clinical Lead’s primary responsibility is to assist in the delivery of quality dermatological services, this will include actively participating and supporting all practice locations by providing MA support and training support to new hires. The Clinical Lead will report directly to the Director of Operations and will be expected to travel to the different practice locations to fill in for employee call-offs, position vacancies, and train new hires. This role encompasses a balance between clinical, training and administrative functions.


This position will be responsible for covering the following practice locations; Sugarloaf, Kutztown, Gilbert and Bethlehem


Essential Functions


Clinical functions

  • Work alongside of the Direction of Operations to prioritize MA function needs as evidenced by staffing vacancies, call-offs or planned leaves of absence such as FMLA or LOA.
  • Transcribe for providers during exams
  • Assist with biopsies and select surgical procedures
  • Educate patients on treatment plans
  • Assist with cosmetic procedures
  • Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures
  • Stock rooms with necessary supplies
  • Report biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider
  • Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient
  • Send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP

Training functions

  • Operate as a clinical trainer to support all clinic operations with hands on onboarding support, EMR Training, implementation of Training Plan, competency assessment.
  • Support competency assessment process
  • Clinical training can be monitored remotely, in person and in a staff shadowing / mentoring role.

Administrative functions

  • Runs reports congruent with assessing training needs, competencies, and onboarding for staff.
  • Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider
  • Assist office staff with front end tasks if needed
  • Support in training Medical Assistant and Front Desk new hires for all practice locations
Requirements:

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must have certification from a Medical Assistant Program
  • 3-5 years of relevant medical / surgical practice experience
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to different locations daily and at the last minute.
