3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor

12-hour shifts. 3 1/2-day work weeks. Alternating weekends!

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. They will also oversee the entire maintenance department.

Role and Responsibilities

• Report near miss and hazards daily and documented
• Responsible for your team to be trained for Lock out tag out and there following procedures
• Responsible for conducting safety huddle daily
• Required to create spare parts list per equipment
• Required to complete PM evaluations on 10% of completed PM’s
• Correct all unsafe work conditions as soon as possible
• Manage thru MVP, documenting all equipment downtime
• Manage PM completions thru MVP system
• Each supervisor is responsible for good House Keeping. Making sure everyone picks up behind them.
• Manage the maintenance staff through delegation, policy and procedure administration, assignment of work responsibilities, planning, organizing, directing and follow-up of the work assignment.
• Champion plant safety efforts within the department through administration and enforcement of company and plant policies/procedures.
• Required to approve PTO and timecard punches for direct reports
• Manage punches and schedule
• Manage attendance issues and be aware of your teams’ points
• Manage overtime thru out department to reduce unnecessary overtime
• Responsible for terminating team member with guidance of HR
• Perform incident investigation when there has been an accident
• Capital project development and post-approval management.
• Assist Plant Engineer in management and scheduling of project elements to ensure minimal interruption to plant operations.
• Deliver finished projects as designed on time and on budget with no safety, food safety or environmental issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position provides leadership and guidance to the technicians within the maintenance department.

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management or relative field
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• 3+ years’ experience in a position of leadership
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
• Basic fabrication skills (welding, metal fabrication, examples of improvement projects, etc.)
• Required to work long hours and weekends
