DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES


This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of human resources to ensure the smooth functioning of our team. The HR Specialist will oversee various HR functions, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and performance management. This position requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive work environment.


Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:


  • Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods such as online job boards, social media platforms, professional networks, and referrals to actively search for and attract top legal talent.
  • Networking Events: Organize and attend networking events, job fairs, and industry conferences to connect with potential candidates and promote the company as an employer of choice.
  • Candidate Assessment Tools: Implement and utilize candidate assessment tools, such as skills tests, personality assessments, and situational judgment tests, to evaluate candidates' competencies and suitability for specific roles.
  • Employment Branding Collateral:Develop and distribute employment branding collateral, such as brochures, videos, and company profiles, to effectively communicate the employer value proposition and attract candidates to the organization.
  • Talent Market Analysis:Conduct talent market analysis to identify trends, competitor strategies, and talent gaps, informing recruitment strategies and positioning the organization competitively in the market.
  • Candidate Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing regular updates, feedback, and support to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Employment Offers and Negotiation:Prepare and present employment offers to selected candidates, negotiate terms and conditions of employment, and facilitate the offer acceptance process.
  • Employment Brand Advocacy: Encourage and empower employees to act as brand advocates by promoting job opportunities within their networks and communities, expanding the reach of recruitment efforts.
  • Recruitment Metrics Tracking: Track and analyze recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire, to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:Continuously review and enhance recruitment processes and practices, implementing best practices and innovative approaches to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in talent acquisition.

Employee Onboarding and Orientation:


  • Employee Onboarding: Facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information to integrate into the team.
  • New Employee Orientation: Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies, procedures, and culture.

Performance Management:


  • Performance Metrics Development:Collaborate with department heads and executives to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Performance Calibration Sessions:Facilitate performance calibration sessions to ensure consistency and fairness in performance evaluations across departments and teams.
  • Performance Management Training:Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees on performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback delivery, and performance appraisal techniques.
  • Performance Recognition Programs:Design and implement performance recognition programs to acknowledge and reward employees for exceptional performance and achievements, fostering a culture of appreciation and motivation.
  • Performance Analytics and Reporting:Analyze performance data and generate reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in employee performance, providing insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Succession Planning: Collaborate with leadership to identify high-potential employees and develop succession plans to ensure continuity of talent and leadership pipeline within the organization.
  • Performance Management Software Administration: Oversee the administration and utilization of performance management software systems to streamline performance appraisal processes, track employee progress, and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Employee Development Initiatives: Partner with HR and learning and development teams to design and implement employee development initiatives, including training programs, mentoring opportunities, and career advancement pathways, to support performance improvement and career growth.
  • 360-Degree Feedback Programs: Implement and administer 360-degree feedback programs to gather comprehensive feedback from multiple sources, including peers, subordinates, and managers, to provide a holistic view of employee performance and development areas.
  • Performance Management Policy Development: Develop and update performance management policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure clarity, consistency, and fairness in performance evaluation and management practices across the organization.
  • Employee Engagement Surveys: Collaborate with HR to design and conduct employee engagement surveys to assess employee satisfaction, morale, and alignment with organizational goals, leveraging insights to inform performance management strategies and initiatives.
  • Conflict Resolution and Mediation:Provide guidance and support to managers in resolving performance-related conflicts and issues through effective communication, mediation, and conflict resolution techniques.


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


  • Ideally 3+ years of HR Experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience 
  • Stellar people skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines - working with a sense of urgency in everything you do!
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Open to learning Meldon Law's hiring funnel and policies!
