We are currently seeking a Parenting Coach to join our Parenting Support Program team. This is a Hybrid Position with Flexible hours, serving Whatcom and Skagit Counties. 


JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Parenting Coach

Group: J Advanced Specialties

Supervised by: Director of Clinical Programs

Starting Wage: $30-$33/hr, DOE

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week


Purpose: 

The Parenting Academy promotes positive parenting practices by partnering with parents and caregivers, teaching and coaching strategies that strengthen parent-child relationships and support children’s social/emotional development. To do this, Parenting Academy offers seminars and classes, one-on-one parent coaching, and therapy.

 

Parenting Coaches are trained and accredited in one or more Evidence-Based Program (EBP) interventions. Applicants will have experience working with both parents/caregivers and children and knowledge of child mental health and development. A Parenting Coach must be able to work collaboratively and have a high level of self-management. 

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage referrals for appointments.
  • Engage caregivers, conducting a comprehensive family assessment and utilizing other assessment tools to develop goals for the service.
  • Provide high-quality services to children, families, and caregivers using evidence-based practices, in one-on-one parent coaching sessions, family and dyadic-therapy sessions, and classes and seminars.
  • Complete required paperwork by due dates including case notes and monthly billing, as applicable.
  • Maintain DOH licensure requirements.
  • Complete and maintain training and quality assurance activities per contract requirements.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with contractors, referrers, community partners, and model trainers/consultants.
  • Attend agency mandatory meetings, supervision, and required training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

Master’s degree required. Associate Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker with the State of Washington required. Two years of relevant professional experience are required. Prior training and experience in evidence-based parenting curricula and treatment models for childhood trauma are preferred. Fluency in Spanish and English desired.
