Salary: 20.00 per hour

The SAN MATEO COUNTY FAIR is seeking Admisisons Ticket Takers, Sellers and Ambassadors to work in a fun and friendly environment during the San Mateo County Fair.


This is a seasonal position from approximately May 30 through June 9.

Fair Dates: June 1 & 2 and June 5 – 9.  Some weekend only shifts available. 

Fair hours: 11am – 10pm.  Shifts will vary in length; some may be more than 8   hours.  Training will take place in the afternoon/evening of May 30. Schedules are flexible.


Pay is $20.00 per hour.


Responsibilities

Ticket Taker Responsibilities:

  • Greet all guests upon entrance with a smile and welcome them to the Fair.
  • Provide the primary level of guest assistance at the venue entrances.
  • Admit guests to the venue who present a valid ticket/credential and deny access to those who do not.
  • Provide guests with directions or other venue information.
  • Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Operate small electronic scanners to validate authenticity of tickets.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Ticket Seller Responsibilities:

  • Greet all guests at ticket window with a smile and welcome them to the Fair.
  • Operate touchscreen POS to sell tickets, handle cash & credit cards, make change.
  • Answer guests’ questions about Fair.
  • Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Ticket Ambassador

  • Greet Guests at Self Service kiosks by admission gates.
  • Answer guests’ questions about Fair and ticket purchases.
  • Assist patrons with the purchase of tickets on kiosks or phones.
  • Direct patrons to entrances.
  • Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Positive attitude and great work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to interact with all in a professional, helpful, courteous and tactful manner.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with the public.
  • Ability to multi-task, answer questions and operate a computer
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires being responsible, reliable and dependable to fulfill job obligations.
  • Punctuality is a must as this is time sensitive position.
  • Available to work days, evenings and weekends.
