Position: Network Cloud Specialist

 

Job Summary: Network-Cloud Specialist deploys and maintains IT network infrastructure; managing the network and ensuring it functions efficiently by troubleshooting issues, anticipating problems, and performing routine maintenance. The Network-Cloud Specialist supports migration of information and services to the cloud; dealing with daily maintenance, network and cloud management operations. This position reports to the VP of Information Technology.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Determine enterprise needs, develop, maintain, and administrate network infrastructures.
  • Establish and maintain network performance and availability management processes and is the liaison with vendors or third parties.
  • Monitor and analyze the network to ensure network availability and performance as defined by enterprise needs.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer network problems. Ensure secure and stable server connectivity and testing network protocols.
  • Test, evaluate, and install network enhancements to regularly update the network. Test data exchange and communication between all network devices and components.
  • Fine-tune the network and upgrade network components to enhance the availability and performance, monitor server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • Install, update, and configure network devices, software, appliances, and tools.
  • Establish, maintain, secure, and support remote connections to enterprise networks and systems.
  • Analyze and define enterprise’s disaster recovery plan and procedures.
  • Respond to disasters, communications, and network outages, conduct the investigation, and coordinate the response with other staff, vendors, third parties, and management.
  • Manage Internet, Data & Voice Communications. Design and build communication networks.
  • Manage and support Unified Communications (UC) platforms and phone systems, escalate issues to UCaaS provider.
  • Troubleshoot, run diagnostic tests, and perform repairs, as well as develop backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.
  • Define policies and procedures for the network and UC, prepare user manuals and provide remote or onsite technical support.
  • Enhance network security, keep accurate documentation and records on the network, document network processes and architecture.
  • Keep informed of developments in network, cloud computing technologies and infrastructure.
  • Support migration of information and services to the cloud by selecting appropriate cloud technology, creating, provisioning, managing, and supporting cloud computing services.
  • Deploy, debug, and executes initiatives related to cloud computing ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies.
  • Deploy and debug cloud stacks, maintain cloud infrastructures, deliver end to end Cloud infrastructure.
  • Automate deployment and management of IaaS, PaaS, database, and networking architectures.
  • Adopt a cloud-first mentality when it comes to building or upgrading IT infrastructure.


Required Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a combination of Network Specialist functions, and cloud computing
  • Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen.
  • Must have valid drivers license and valid car insurance


Desired Experience/Certifications:

  • Certified Network + from CompTIA, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), Cisco Network Professional, CompTIA Cloud+, Certified MS Azure Fundamentals, or Certified MS 365 Fundamentals or higher preferred.
