Barrington Residential is seeking a qualified, high-energy, reliable Maintenance Technician to support our local properties. Ideal candidates will have a well-rounded skillset in all trades in the property maintenance realm. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, for the overall maintenance of the apartment community and all areas related to the day-to-day maintenance operations of the community.

As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibilities include:

• Showing care and concern for our residents through excellence in service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance.
• Resolving maintenance issues in the area of minor electrical, plumbing, construction, painting, appliance repair, and general maintenance repairs.
• Preparing vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements.
• Preserving the beauty of the building and the safety of the community through general upkeep and cleanliness, snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Working on weekends or evenings and being on-call for after hour emergencies.

What You Bring to Us:

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in building maintenance or an education in the trades
• Experience with painting
• Experience with plumbing
• Experience with electrical
• General knowledge of tools
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Personal, reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to on-call emergencies
• Valid Driver’s License
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A sharp professional appearance and can adhere to the company’s dress code at all times
• Ability to regularly walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outside and regularly exposed to all weather elements including extreme cold or heat, rain, sleet, and snow

Preferred Qualifications:

• HVAC Certification
• BOCES Certification(s)

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $21.00/hour - $24.00/hour

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 8AM – 4:30PM EST.
• 2 days at Park Hill, 3 days at Farmington Court
• On-call rotation
