Harvest Supervisor (Seasonal) - Full-time

Role of the Harvest Supervisor

The Harvest Supervisor is responsible for coordinating harvest staffing at their assigned client locations (e.g. district, station, piling site, etc.) by administering Express systems and procedures. Additionally, the Harvest Supervisor provides support for the harvest project from beginning to end to assure the project goals as met and the client is serviced with quality throughout. 

As with all of our employees, the Harvest Supervisor should refrain from unprofessional conduct that could reflect poorly on the organization. Complaints, criticism or comments about the Client, associates, other employees or office policy should be made in private and to the appropriate supervisor.

Seasonal Schedule

You would begin your assignment on the 1st of August and you would work through to the end of the harvest which is Mid November

Essential Functions

1. Coordinate harvest staffing, striving to provide optimal staffing levels at assigned client locations

• Conduct job interviews and evaluate applicant skills, abilities, and availability

• Process and organize applications and associated paperwork

• Assign associates to the Client’s location and communicate relevant assignment information to the associate (e.g. person to whom they report, working conditions, essential job functions, work schedule, pay rate, etc.)

• Conduct orientations

• Maintain and update crewing lists for assigned Client locations

• Gather and document associate work performance complaints and issues, providing necessary feedback to the Client as applicable

• Provide associate with counseling and appropriate disciplinary action to correct performance problems

• Terminate unsatisfactory associates

• Develop and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with associates and Client staff

• Serve as liaison for assigned campgrounds or housing, as applicable

2. Provide overall support for the harvest project

• Set up and close the satellite office(s)

• Communicate status daily with harvest project management

• Review Workamper Arrival Information

• Maintain a proper inventory of all harvest application forms

• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace 

 

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and professional manner

• Ability to handle urgent staffing needs with professionalism and poise

• Ability to carefully follow written and verbal directions

• Ability to read and comprehend various job-related documents and materials

• Ability to perform the basic math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

• Possess basic 10-key knowledge

• Possess advanced computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and be able to type with accuracy

• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and meet or exceed all project deadlines

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

 

Working Conditions and Requirements

• Activities will be mostly indoor with occasional visits to outdoor client locations (e.g. piling sites)

• Must be able to work effectively under the daily stress of multiple, time-sensitive activities

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
