Shipping Clerk

Our company is looking for a Shipping Clerk to join our team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping and Receiving

• Coordinate shipments to domestic and international customers.
• Create all necessary paperwork in the ERP system such as pick lists, shipping order, packing slips, bill of ladings and invoices.
• Create and send all export documents required for international shipments such as SLI and waybills.
• Arrange for carriers for all shipments including brokers, trucking, UPS, FEDEX, etc.
• Ensure shipments are packaged and labeled per customer requirements as well as ensuring shipment quantities match the order.
• Ensure shipping weights and traceability information are correct and recorded.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a backup coordinator for shipments to and from outside vendors. 

Create all necessary paperwork in the ERP system such as purchase orders.

Coordinate pick-up/drop-off deliveries with vendors.

Ensure quantities, weights, and traceability of products being shipped and received are accurate.

Ensure return of products in a timely manner

• Serve as a liaison between customer service, sales, and production.
• Follow all work procedures and instructions.
• Direct subordinates in the proper procedures necessary to accomplish the activities described above.
• Recommend measures to improve shipping methods, procedures and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations immediately. Ensure all procedures and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations. Ensure proper housekeeping of area.
• Perform any and all other activities as directed by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Communicate with management staff, supervisors and factory personnel. 

Good writing and oral communication skills.

Must be organized and able to prioritize.

Moderate level of confidentiality.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word. Experience in the use of Syteline or other ERP system would be helpful.

Knowledge of UPS World Ship & FedEx ship manager would be helpful.

Knowledge of inventory control would be helpful.

Ability to comprehend and apply on-the job training provided by the company.
