Overview
We are seeking a Lead, Program Management to work out of the Camden, AR or possibly our Huntsville, AL location.
Reporting directly to the Director, Programs, this position will manage various elements of the program, which include defining and controlling program scope, developing and supporting the updates of overall schedules and budget, and acting as primary contact for assigned project elements. The Program Manager will assure, through the assigned program team, that contract performance responsibility is properly delegated to performing organizations and outside suppliers.
Essential Functions
Provides management and leadership of assigned program teams in execution of the program plan for assigned program elements. Interfaces with support organizations to ensure program tasks are scheduled, on-track and properly staffed.
Establishes detailed program plans including schedules and budgets and supports the updates to them throughout the duration of the program.
Proposal preparation, BOE development, support fact finding & DCMA/DCAA audits.
Supports the preparation of reports/briefings to Aerojet Rocketdyne management and the customer on program schedule and financial performance status.
Supports the overall business/technical relationship with customers and prepares contract change proposals when appropriate.
Supports department and company improvement initiatives leading to reduced costs and improved quality.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of project management within the framework of Program Planning, Program Control (Earned Value), and Program Execution.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Ability to plan, prioritize and delegate work assignments.
Skill and ability to provide technical and administrative guidance for activities in defined scope of responsibilities.
Proven ability to utilize excellent oral and written communication skills to build teams that are goal-oriented and focused on success, including presentation skills appropriate for management level.
Supported by experience in product development and manufacturability of affordable products.
Desired Qualifications:
Solid propulsion background.
Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification.
