Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Controller to join our family. The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate the administrative operations of both the office and the field, ensuring efficiency and smooth functioning. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the operations by managing office activities, personnel, and resources effectively.


Position Requirements and Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field; CPA preferred.
Strong knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid / Heavy Job
Strong knowledge of SAGE 100 Contractor
Extensive experience (5+ years) in financial management and accounting within the construction industry.
Proven track record of principles, practices, regulations and procedures.
In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, cost control, and project financial management.




Duties:

Prepare monthly or bi-weekly progress billing
Manage and input change orders
Review and ensure accuracy of job costs
Compare work quantities to date and retainage with the owners for accuracy.
Review and log all payments for vendors and subcontractors.
Set up/reconcile customers and jobs in the system.
Secure all necessary approvals and ensure that standard company procedures are followed.
Preparation of certified payroll reports, as necessary
Knowledge of contract closeout processes
Manage the timely collection of accounts receivable balances
Manage subcontractor prequalification process
Prepare partial, final lien releases, and all required notices related to jobs and subcontractors.
Knowledge and experience of EEO requirements
Prepare daily cash journals for job related receivables and payables.
