Special Education Teacher

Position Available: Intervention Specialists (K-6th Grade)

Location: Newark, OH, 43055
Start Date: August 2024
End Date: End of the 2024-2025 school year
Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 2:45 pm

Position Type: Intervention Specialist

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio teaching license with Intervention Specialist endorsement
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or behavior challenges
• Knowledge of special education laws and best practices
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with learning disabilities and/or behavior challenges
• Implement evidence-based interventions and accommodations to address students' individual needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students' success in the general education curriculum
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed
• Monitor students' progress and adjust instruction and interventions accordingly
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and services provided
