Shop Manager

Pot O' Gold is looking for a full-time Shop Manager.

Job Purpose:

The job of the shop manager is to make the shop run smoothly. This could mean ordering parts, making parts lists, managing work intake, billing, and managing employee work flow including scheduling mechanical, fabrication, upholstery and the body shop as the shop has all 4 in one location.

Pay rate:

-offering $75-85k/year based on verifiable experience

Duties and responsibilities:

- Knowing company standards and expectations

-knowledge of parts across the board for many different makes and models with a wide range of years.

- writing estimates and knowing related parts/jobs for those estimates.

-managing employee workflow and scheduling

-looking over employee work and knowing company standards keeping an eye on progress as projects move along

-meeting with new customers and having the ability to relate to their needs making sure our abilities are directly related to their desires

-Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace

-Establishes and maintains professional communication with vendors

-Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.

-Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.

-Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops warehouse staff; manages schedules and workflow.

-payroll management

-Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures

-Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

-this can be a fast paced environment and it is important to be able to move at the pace of the shop-take and use constructive criticism as a learning tool toward the goals of the team at Pot O Gold Kustoms

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a shop manager requested. Preferred to have hot rod/custom car experience. Some exceptions may be made with verifiable experience. REFERENCES WILL BE CHECKED!

- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates

- quickbooks/excel program use as we have excel now and are transitioning to quickbooks soon

Working conditions:

-Sometimes you will be expected to work late hours and even weekends if the job calls for it. Normally we are 8-5 Monday through Friday for operation hours but more hours may be necessary to complete the job.

-Doing this job requires wearing a respirator for sometimes all the day’s work processes. The shop is very dusty, and it is required that a respirator be worn during times of need such as but not limited do sanding and grinding metals of various types.

-must be comfortable in a loud environment. Some of the processes used are damaging to your ears and hearing protection will be required.

-some of the materials used are hazardous and require special handling. This means gloves and a vapor safe respirator. You must wear the proper safety gear when using these products.

-some of the job requires welding and use of tools that can be dangerous if not used properly. You must have knowledge of that tool’s risks prior to use.

-welding and grinding/sanding of metal is dangerous and it is required of you to wear safe clothing that is flame resistant, proper gloves for the process you are using at the time, eye protection at all times, hearing protection when needed, long hair tied up and no loose clothing
