Job Summary and Qualifications

Our nurses are FAMILY! Work as an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse and become part of our family of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to caring for others like family. The job duties of diagnostic and interventional radiology nurses include:

Your role serves as a patient advocate and provides patient care through the development and implementation of ongoing systems and practices that promote and maintain quality nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Radiology Department.

You will prepare patients for procedures: Includes scheduling patients, pre-operative care, checking and verifying vital signs, meds, NPO status, lab results, and medical history

Your role involves inserting and removing intravenous lines, as well as administering conscious sedation drugs and other drugs

You will monitor patient patterns and vital signs during the procedure

You will oversee the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after procedures

Your role will provide post-procedure monitoring: Includes post-operative recovery, observing for signs and symptoms of complications, such as bleeding from the puncture site, pain, and/or changes in mental status or vital signs, and post procedure education

Your role involves working closely with radiology technologists to care for patients as a cohesive team.

Needed Qualifications:

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

Current Colorado Registered Nurse License with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS? Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

1-2 years of experience in a specialty unit (Critical Care, ED, PACU, Step-Down, Cath Lab or IR) preferred, or 2-3 years of experience in acute care medical-surgical unit

Willing to learn how to place PICC, Midline, and Ultrasound Guided IV’s

Willing to take call on weekdays and weekends

Must be able to function independently, be multi-task oriented, and show excellent prioritizing skills

Work Requirements:

Regular 4-day work week, 9-hour shifts with flexible weekday off

7-8 call shifts per month, including 1 weekend

15 call shifts every three months, including 2 weekends (bonus pay available)

Preferred Qualifications:

Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab experience

Trained in placing PICC, Midline and Ultrasound Guided IV’s

Familiarity with Meditech
