Licensed Practical Nurse - Triage - Full-time

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle phone calls from patients who are seeking medical attention with compassion, good judgment and making decisions based on clinical and regulatory policies and protocols.
• Educate patients on the phone who have questions about the services provided.
• Schedule appointments, and answer patient questions.
• Completes Prior Authorizations.
• Processes medication renewals and authorizations.
• Executes all provider orders as indicated, directs ordered testing to appropriate staff member, initiates appropriate follow up.
• Sends specimens with completed forms to the lab as directed by the provider.
• Performs other duties/tasks as assigned by supervisor or as directed by providers.

• Must possess a New York State license and current registration for Licensed Practical Nursing
• 1-2 years' experience in outpatient setting preferred
• BLS certificate required
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Proficient computer skills with excellent attention to detail, organization and time management skills
• Ability to handle a busy office environment

COMPENSATION: The compensation range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
