Automotive | Transmission Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive | Transmission Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive transmissions, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work. This is a full-time position based at our reputable automotive repair shop located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair automotive transmissions, including manual and automatic transmissions
• Perform routine maintenance on transmissions, such as fluid changes and filter replacements
• Conduct thorough inspections of transmissions to identify issues and provide accurate repair recommendations
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose transmission problems
• Perform repairs and replacements on transmission components, such as gears, bearings, seals, and clutches
• Test and verify the performance of repaired or replaced transmissions to ensure they are functioning properly
• Document all repairs and maintenance performed on transmissions accurately and thoroughly
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Transmission Technician
• Strong knowledge of automotive transmissions, including manual and automatic transmissions
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for transmission repairs
• Ability to diagnose and repair transmission problems efficiently and accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and customers
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
