Arizona-based Universal Background Screening is a leading nationwide provider of background screening and drug testing services to business clients. We are ranked as one of the top companies in our field, and our Verifications group strives to provide service excellence to our clients. To support our continued growth, we seek a Verifications Specialist to join our growing team.

Summary: Our Verification Specialists verify information reported by our clients' job applicants. They conduct phone interviews, internet and database research to complete these important verification activities accurately and in a timely manner. They evaluate and verify supporting documents and accurately input the information into our proprietary system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently manage inbound calls for Employment, Education, Reference, and Licensing Verification.
  • Follow policies and procedures to maintain an effective follow-up process for all verifications to ensure timely completion of background checks.
  • Accurate data entry of verified information such previous employment, graduation dates, degrees achieved, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy and receive assurance of information obtained for verifications.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently to all parties involved in obtaining verification information by phone or email.
  • Work to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Understanding of general computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with researching business information on the web
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail and Goal Oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and manage daily assignments
  • Team motivated and able to work well with others, also works well independently
  • Must be able to type 38 WPM

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with sensitive data

  • Reverse address/telephone tracking

  • 1 year of customer service or call center experience preferred.

This position is full-time and on-site Monday-Friday.

Must be available for an in-person interview. Fluent English, both written and verbal, is required.
