Job Description
Blue Mountain Energy is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial/Industrial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC/R systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients. The candidate will need to be able to support and or work across our business units from Service, Support, Sales, Mechanical & Innovations. We work in close partnership with our clients to achieve a multitude of objectives, recommending energy-efficient HVAC/R devices, engineering smart energy usage solutions, creating lasting energy efficiencies, and ultimately driving sustainable cost savings.
Responsibilities:
Install new commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handling units, and ductwork, according to project specifications and industry standards.
Perform maintenance on internal combustion engines, open drive scroll compressors, heat recovery heat exchangers and related engine components. (Training included)
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Repair or replace defective components, such as engines, compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, and control valves.
Conduct performance tests and calibrations on HVAC equipment to verify proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute HVAC/R installations and upgrades.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with a variety of HVAC/R equipment brands and manufacturers especially Daikin brand systems.
Understand the digital communication protocol within Variable Refrigerant Flow systems.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and controls integration.
Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to commercial and industrial HVAC installations.
Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
