Essential Job Functions:

·         Assist in training fuel center personnel as per approved format.

·         Assist with processing employee information and paperwork on a timely basis.

·         Assist in the supervision of employees in a fair, consistent and impartial way, in accordance with EEO guidelines.

·         Promote teamwork between all fuel center employees and supervision.

·         Keep master copies of all forms used in Fuel operation on hand at all times.

·         Keep all supplies used in Fuel Center on hand at all times and order when needed according to store policy.

·         Relay information from a manger and division manager to all fuel center employees.

·         Advise supervisor of significant events affecting the fuel center.

·         Keep all fuel center information confidential.

·         Post weekly work schedules in accordance with policy.

·         Operate cash registers accurately and according to company policy. Accurately balance cash, checks, lottery, etc.

·         Prepare and/or ensure that all fuel center records are completed accurately and on a timely basis.

·         Ensure that correct pricing is maintained and that merchandise is rotated, clean and in code.

·         Assist with and be aware of all promotions according to the marketing planner, displaying advertising materials, window banners and displays on a timely basis.

·         Assist in building special displays.

·         Order merchandise through appropriate departments to keep product a Fuel Center at all times.

·         Ensure that Out of Stocks are kept to expectations and properly utilize the replenishment system every day.

·         Greeting customers at the pump as well as the window – Respond to their questions and requests, and explain store policies. Must deal with customers and situations in a courteous and tactful way.

·         Leads are expected to make a clean, neat, friendly, and professional impression on customers and associates.

·         Transact Sales – Lead will operate fuel center register and be able to handle transactions in a quick and efficient manner.

·         Monitor fueling – Ensure safe fueling practices by monitoring customers at multiple fueling positions continually.

·         Merchandising – Lead will maintain proper merchandising by receiving and stocking merchandise both inside and outside of the fuel center’s kiosk.

·         Fuel Center leads will also be responsible for the ensuring of: (a) general cleaning both at the dispensers and the kiosk including the use of oil absorbent on the concrete of the fuel center, (b) emptying of trash containers and picking up the parking area surrounding the fuel center, (c) filling of windshield washer buckets, paper towels, and any other supplies, and (d) changing of messages on street sign as instructed by store manager.

·         Responsible that the safe door is shut when not in use.

·         Follow company policy to help prevent loss of money or merchandise due to shoplifting, robbery, and break – in, or employee or vender theft.

·         Ensure control of all fuel center keys and safe combinations.

·         Quickly respond to physical and chemical emergencies such as fires and fuel spills. Know where emergency shut-off switches are and use them if necessary. Refer to emergency phone numbers posted on Kiosk wall and notify management when emergencies occur. Train all fuel employees on how to do the same.

·         Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.

·         Lead Clerk must set the standards by being prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.

·         Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.

·         Perform any and all duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Position Qualifications:

·         Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed

·         Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.

·         Must be able to process fuel, merchandise and lottery orders through the register quickly and accurately and operate all equipment that pertains to the customer checkout.

·         Must be able to complete daily cleaning duties and document work accomplished on daily duty form.

·         Lead Clerk must understand and follow established gasoline operations and maintenance.

·         Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
