Holy Trinity Episcopal School (HTES) is a non-profit, independent school for students in grades 6-12 who struggle to learn, belong, and make friends in a traditional school environment due to conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, or other learning challenges. Our 2023-24 enrollment (Aug ’23) is 42 students, 11 teachers, and 3 support staff. Classes maintain a 7:1 student/teacher ratio. When students graduate from HTES with a full diploma and go on to college, a vocational program, or work, we have fulfilled our Mission: to equip each student with the tools they need to lead a fulfilling and independent life.

The Head of School (HOS) serves as the Chief Operations Officer of the school and has full responsibility for the academic affairs, administrative operations, and financial health of the school; ensures that the school complies with all current applicable governmental laws and regulations; supervises faculty and staff; and coordinates the activities of the entire organization.

 

The Head of School:

  • Embodies and advocates the mission of the school consistent with our Episcopal School Identity
  • Collaborates with the Board of Directors on formation, articulation, and implementation of our Growth Vision
  • Represents the school in its relations with all state, federal, local, and accrediting agencies
  • Oversees all school academic, athletic, religious, and extracurricular programs and activities
  • Designs, implements, monitors, and evaluates student progress using curricula specific to the needs and desired outcomes for HTES students
  • Seeks “Best Practices” for educational programs as related to exceptional students with needs
  • Assures each student has an individualized learning plan based on the IEP presented upon entry
  • Assures student recruitment is at full capacity of 49 students throughout the year
  • Develops and manages annual operating, capital budgets, and 3-year Strategic Plan
  • Employs all personnel, both academic and administrative, and prescribes their duties, salaries and contracts, terms of office, job assignments and performance evaluations
  • Administers equitable systems of compensation and professional development of all staff
  • Responsible for facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and friendly environment that is aesthetically attractive and functional for staff and students
  • Develops and implements a Marketing Plan, serves as spokesperson for the school, and represents HTES to the community at large
  • Supports development (fundraising) activities to achieve desired levels of financial support
  • The HOS is an employee of the Board of Directors and serves as an ex-officio member of the Board

COMPENSATION and BENFITS

Full Time Salaried Position with benefits. 403(b) retirement savings plan after 1 year.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Strong Educational Leadership skills and Administration experience (to include operating budgets); Demonstrated ability to inspire others by example; Ability to partner effectively with School's Board of Directors

· Minimum of 3 years Teaching experience at the secondary school level

· Experience working with autism-spectrum challenged students highly desirable, as is independent school experience
