Excelsior Village Academies, Inc. is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Founding Teacher Fellows. As a Founding Teacher Fellow, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with experienced educators to develop your teaching skills and contribute to the establishment of our school. This is a full-time, paid fellowship program that will provide training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in the classroom. Fellows will work under the guidance of experienced teachers and collaborate with a team of educators to support student learning and growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging lessons that align with the school's curriculum and instructional goals.
  • Provide individual and small-group instructional support to students based on their needs.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the implementation of instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and reflective practice sessions.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and other activities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Passion for education and a strong desire to make a positive impact in students' lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A growth mindset and eagerness to learn and grow as a teacher.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a startup environment.
  • Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Clear background check.
