Shaffer Distributing Company, a 4th generation family-owned business and leading Midwest distributor of vending machines, parts and services is currently looking for an experienced vending field service vending technician to repair most major brands of vending snack, coffee, food and beverage machines at customer locations throughout the state of Ohio.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair all major brands of vending equipment.
  • Install new and reconditioned equipment at customer's location.
  • Train customers (some visually impaired) on proper use of equipment, settings and routine maintenance.
  • Communicate issues to management and factory representatives.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory and keep service vehicle clean and organized.

Requirements:

The position requires extensive day travel to locations throughout the state.

  • At least five (5) years experience repairing vending machines and/or commercial food service equipment.
  • Must be at least 21 years old (some of our customers have age restricted entry).
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Courteous and Professional.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to pass a background investigation including criminal, driving and credit histories.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50-75 pounds.
  • Able to use hand tools and work handcart, dolly, pallet jack, etc.
  • Able to climb and work from a ladder occasionally (as needed) - up to 12ft ladder.
  • Able to crawl in an ceiling/attic or other small spaces.
